Tsuyoshi Ozawa (Artist)
Born in 1965, Tokyo. As a student at the Tokyo National
University of Fine Arts and Music, Ozawa began his work
called "Jizo-ing" in which he photographs
Jizo statues that he has made himself and then situated
in different environments. In 1993, he began creating
portable, miniature galleries from milk boxes, naming
them, Nasubi Gallery or Consultation Art. In 1999, he
planned Museum of Soy Sauce Art in what can be considered
an ironic statement directed at the Japanese art history.
In 2001, he began "Vegetable Weapon", a series
of photographic portraits of young women holding weapons
made from vegetable. In 2004, he ad his first solo museum
exhibition "Answer with Yes and No!" at the
Mori Art Museum, Tokyo.
